One of my favorite houses in Old Town - and one of my favorite restaurants - was damaged by a fire just before the holiday. The P.J. Anderson house is located on Church Street and has been home to several restaurants since I have lived in Georgetown. The latest restaurant there was Eats on 8th, which we just went to for my birthday this year. I hope the owner is able to rebuild - and reopen the restaurant!

New construction
People continue to purchase houses in Old Town so they can tear them down and build something else on the property. Last fall, a small house near the intersection of College Street and 4th Street was torn down to build a house that was recently finished (top) and a house near the intersection of 5th and Ash Streets was recently torn down to build a house that is currently under construction (bottom).
